So, would you like to have over so much extra money a year, feel fitter, healthier, confident, smell better, look youthful as a result of stopping? Is the threat of Covid-19 the incentive? Would any, or all, be important to you?
If you are really serious about stopping smoking, or vaping, then I believe I can help.
Hypnotherapy is most often used by people to overcome is smoking or nicotine addiction, created by vaping. Hypnotherapy is indeed the most successful aid to stopping smoking, or vaping, that there is. I used it to stop over 20 years ago, so I know it works!
One : One Session:
In the one to one treatment session, I see clients who are ready to stop smoking or vaping.
This cessation intervention consists of:
But cigarettes or vaping make you feel more relaxed right?
Wrong! What gives you the relaxed feeling is you are breathing deeply. Every “drag” sucks in oxygen and mostly oxygen. So, during the consultation I’ll teach you how to relax deeply and breathe in that lovely oxygen without using a cigarette.
You’re also going to be able to feel good about yourself, how to forget about cigarettes or vaping except when you are telling everyone how you have stopped! You’ll be able to reward yourself for stopping, and stay a nicotine free for good.
During the session, I find out when you smoke or vape each day – which cigarettes or vaping times you may have out of habit, and which you have to help you feel calmer. I will also ask you why you want to stop and why you are giving up.
Generally I will use a type of hypnotherapy called suggestion therapy. It is used to treat those issues that don’t really have any deep underlying anxiety causing them.
It is as the name suggests a very relaxing type of hypnotherapy and it can be used to treat things like stopping smoking, nail biting, and where time is short, things like the fear of public speaking or the fear of flying.
For most people, smoking or vaping is, quite simply, a psychological habit, and suggestion therapy can help the vast majority of these people to stop smoking or vaping.
For some, their smoking or vaping is a symptom of an underlying anxiety, in which case they can still be helped, but analytical therapy might be a better option.
This isn’t a form of hypnotherapy specifically designed for quitting smoking or vaping , but it does still need to be mentioned here, because for some people, it would be the therapy of choice.
There are some people for whom smoking or vaping is more than simply a habit. You could think of is as more of a ‘symptom’ of something else.
Take for example, someone who feels very stressed in their life, or depressed, or feels badly about themselves somehow, and smoking or vaping is in some way a ‘symptom’ of that… it becomes a ‘coping’ mechanism.
People who fall into this category usually feel that’s the right way to go for them as soon as they read that description. Now if that’s the case, then it’s far better for us to work together to solve the actual problem, rather than trying to take away their coping mechanism.
As a general rule of thumb, I would say that anyone smoking more than around 25 – 30 cigarettes a day should consider analytical therapy.
